Describes Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary's habitat mapping program to characterize seafloor substrates within its jurisdictional boundaries. Side scan sonar images, video, bathymetry data and sedimentary samples were used to describe geological and biological aspects of habitat. Geographic information systems can be used to analyze the data, in support of conservation efforts for the area's groundfish stocks.
